Freshmen Orientation September 2008
|
Every year, to welcome the upcoming freshmen into high school, the Peer Leading Program and PAC hold a Freshmen Orientation. It’s a day when only the freshmen come into school and are put into groups with other freshmen and three to four upperclassmen (Peer Leaders). This day is a chance for the students to meet new people and become familiar with high school. There are various team building games and activities which the groups participate in with their Peer Leaders. Each of these events has as its ultimate purpose a goal for the freshman to focus on such as trust, communication, etc. At the end of the festivities, PAC puts together a cook out for everyone. It is the Peer Leading Program’s goal to make sure that each individual gets the most out of this day and feels welcome and comfortable as they begin their years as high school students.
